Not all of these individuals are actually incarcerated. Some of them are free. Perhaps not physically, but some are emotionally and spiritually free . The real shocking statistic is that about 40% of us are living our lives incarcerated in a self-imposed prison of anguish, despair, desperation and discontent. While those that are behind physical barriers due to their BOX 1inability follow the rules of society, they very well may be free in their minds, while the rest of us are in bondage to our own  destructive demons of doom.

Contrary to popular belief no one can take away your freedom. Sure they may limit or restrict your movements, but freedom is a mindset. The three hundred and twenty one unnamedmillion of us that are not physically restrained are in bondage to our negativity and cut off from peace, joy and well being with the key to our bars right in our hand.

Freedom is self acceptance,  inner peace, joy and the refusal to judge, blame, resent and hate. The average “free” person is shackled by one or more of those conditions and they are all self-inflicted and able to be eliminated in flash. When one knows real freedom the joy is evident in everything about them. Their health, finances, personality, demeanor and outlook is infectious and inspires others to want to be around them. Those that are are their own jailers, tend to repel others with every aspect of who they are, (lest the other is aligned, then the term ” misery loves company” is the prevailing paradigm).

  • Greed, want, unfulfilled desire.
  •  Jealousy, resentment,
  • Pride, narcissism, bravado
  • Inauthentic, disingenuous phonies, Living to please, needing to fit in. Following the masses
  • Insecurity, self-consciousness
  •  Bigotry, hatred, racism
  • The need to always be right, superiority, self-righteousness
  • Complaining, negativity, gossip, comparing
  •  Inability to forgive, holding grudges, blame
  • Powerlessness, desperation, fear.
  • perfectionism, intolerance, stress.

These are the chains that have us bound to a life sentence of grief and pain. The sad thing is that there is nowhere to point the finger. These conditions are not levied upon us by a court , or a tribunal of our peers. There is no physical structure behind these CHAINS 1barriers yet they are stronger than any cell or dungeon man has ever fashioned. There is no prison break, tunnel, or rope that we can avail ourselves of that will deliver us to freedom. There is nothing that we will find outside of ourselves that will help.  Alexa, Siri, google and all the searches will not find the door.   No device will ever find the way out because it is not something we must find, it is something we must realize. Freedom is a choice.

The choice  is to realEYEs life, to see the world through the real eyes of unconditional love and unity.

pAINA life of freedom may be elusive to most, seem impossible to others and sound very complicated, but truth be told: YES TRUTH, be told, it is the simplest process there is.  True freedom comes from:

  1. authenticity
  2. acceptance & forgiveness
  3. contentment
  4. Self-love
  5. Non judgement
  6.  Service
  7. Unconditional love.
  8. positiveness

When ones thoughts are focused on the above 8 attributes, and trained to see the good and make the most of what they are exposed to, no other condition than freedom can exist. Joy will shroud the individual and cascade outward to affect all who they eMERGEencounter. The process will unfold in exponential components effortlessly with little to no resistance. The really special thing about it is that all that is required to go from point A to B is a decision. The metamorphosis will be instantaneous.  It is an immutable law of the Universe. I’m sure you heard it before: What you sow, so shall you reap. Your thoughts are planting the seeds for what grows into your experience.

Be mindful. Be positive, be loving

Connections, interactions, & relationships

The life we know, interact in and navigate through is both a singular event and a collaborative undertaking. I know, I just contradicted myself. I tend to do that. Life is a series of contradictions, a dichotomy of events and possibilities that feed off each other and cancel each other out. This is exactly why I find it so interesting to write about.

While I would insist that life exists solely in our minds as thought, with everything we believe we are experiencing being created by us, for us, I will also claim that it is the culmination of all the collective thoughts playing out simultaneously, reacting to one another. In short, life is a puzzle we are creating as we go, and all the players we perceive (create) have a vital piece that needs to be inserted in the proper spot for the picture to present flawlessly. We all have a contribution to make to the whole (greater good) and that contribution is designed to serve the others and help thumbnailcavrlgigfacilitate their inclusion in the picture. This requires relationships. There are romantic, work, friend, casual acquaintance, group dynamic, team, and adversarial relationships. All of these forms of human connection are designed to unify the individuals in order to create a collective whole.  So while I may claim I AM “ALL THAT IS”, I will also explain that I need everyone else in order to be. Did I lose you yet?

The purpose of relationship is to make many into 1.  We are supposed to take all of the life we encounter and blend it with our own to create a big ball of JOY! SO; if we shroud ourselves with relationships that are not empowering we will diminish instead of grow. Way too many of us have life partners, friends, family, pals, work partners, and the like that are involved with us because they need to “fix” us, or because we are trying to “help” them. Then there are yet others we are with download (4)because we are afraid to leave, or we feel a sense of responsibility, loyalty or duty, all while they cause us stress and grief. If our relationships are only cemented by need, mutual or one sided, by fear, or responsibility, then they are destructive and run counter to our life purpose of growing in spirit. If you really think you need someone you have given away creative control of your life and everything you experience it predicated on the decisions of another. Then you are no longer an actor, but a reactor. A life of dependency is void of dreams, goals and happy endings.

I would be willing to bet that at least 50% of relationships are toxic, yet solid and long term. That means only half of us are playing the puzzle piece we were given, so the picture of life is largely incomplete. Life needs us, needs you, to play your piece, put it where it belongs and complete the picture. You are a unique individual, and a vital component of the story you are writing. Without you, the event is incomplete.

I urge everyone to take stock of their relationships. Are all of your encounters and interactions empowering, positive and joyful? If not; why are you still there?  None of us needs the other to get us where we are going, (which happens to be right 003where we are now), yet we all need everyone to be who they are for their own reasons, not for the sake of others. We cannot acquiesce to the desires of someone else, or yield to their judgment. We are all unique, we are all enough, we are all important and we are all “ALL THAT IS”

Clarity of Purpose vs. Wants & Desires

Do we really know what we want?

We hear that term a lot lately. There are thousands of programs, websites, and workshops designed to instruct us how to “Manifest our desires”. Let’s face it; most of us are only trying pull $$ out of thin air.
Before starting any deeper spiritual practice designed around creating your own reality (which is what is happening anyway) we all need to be clear on what we want, and why!

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is manifesting-done.jpg

There are principles behind these “manifesting” programs that are only tangentially touched on, but profoundly important. The 1st of which is THE WHY!We are all attracting conditions into our experience that reflect our most predominant thoughts. Most of us are thinking about becoming happier and getting what we think we need to fulfill that desire.
The majority will default to thoughts of $$. That is because there is a secret fear of suffering due to the lack of money. That particular kind of behavior

has been programmed by society and past erroneous messages we’ve been given by the masses, our family, peers, the media and the GURUS. We have been programmed to believe that STUFF, is the foundation of JOY. But  the need for STUFF to deliver JOY, is born out of fear that not enough STUFF, will keep JOY away.
When our most prevalent thought is mired by fear the semblance of the desires that we attract never tend to nurture us. Only thoughts that are shrouded in JOY to begin with, will allow the manifestation of any part of the desire with JOY & PEACE. Once we are creating from a place of faith & joy, not from fear and pain, any riches that may nurture us will flow with little to no effort. The telltale sign of this being true is that the “Gifts” we each have, our talent, is always something that we enjoy doing regardless the end result. Very few of us make our living with our gift, but if more did, this planet would be much better off. Too many of chase fame & fortune through means we think will attract greater riches, at the expense of our integrity and authenticity. It is no wonder there are so many miserable souls hell bent on attacking these days. It is like going with the flow, paddling our canoes with the current instead of upstream, it is easier, and we get to our destination quicker, with less strain & pain.

How many of those that society reveres have lost their family, been subject to harassment, scandal and attack, or have sacrificed health and even life in the pursuit of a goal, that when achieved is short lived? Can we really call it success to spend 10,20, 30 years struggling, sacrificing and being riddled with pain and frustration, for a few short years of beating our chest at the end of our lives? I think the joke is them. I would rather enjoy my few years while I have them, go to my kids soccer games and recitals, actually taste my meals, and have with whatever I am doing. Under those conditions, whatever I produce will be of more value to society.

Personally, ( I’m sure there are those thatwill disagree). Whoever said: “No pain, No gain”, or “ Nothing worth havingcomes easy”, were so far off the mark they couldn’t even see the prize. I feel,( Just me mind you) If you are experiencing pain, suffering, sacrificing foryour goals, that once you achieve them you will be disappointed. My belief isthat the path of least résistance, the road that is joyful all the way, will yieldthe best result. Anything else is shoveling shit against the tide.

We all have talents and abilities that are meant to be our “OFFERING” to the collective of our experience. It is our gifts, that become our gifts to the world. See New Testament 1st Corinthians 12, Spiritual gifts, & One Body many parts. Therein lies the truth of purpose. It is only when we are using

our gifts (talents) to improve the overall well being of life (of which we are a part), that we will be able to know the authentic condition of organic JOY. Life is a puzzle of which we are each a piece and must place it in the space where it fits the best to feel the peace and contentment that comes through the unified collaboration of love.

What are YOU looking for? Whatever it is; that is what you are attracting. Manifesting is the act of creating reality by means of repeated and

concerted thought & concentration. Is your mind focused on what makes you happy, or on what THEY SAY SHOULD make you happy? There is a marked difference between the two.

Seek JOY, Seek to make a difference, Then, and ONLY THEN will you be attracting and living your

bliss. $$ will not usher in joy, nor will fame or celebrity.  Get CLEAR ON WHAT YOU WANT, YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!

Give it away to keep it.

Christmas is over and the decorations are coming down, trees getting tossed and boxes broken and folded for recycling.Did you get what you wanted from Santa? I’m sure there are many of us that have gotten widget like thingamabobs that we have no use for and may not even understand. Do you re- wrap it for the next co-worker birthday, or second cousin once removed daughter’s daughter that is having an engagement party/shower? I think I just keep it in a drawer or closet for a dozen years then toss it. Usually one month after I toss it, I discovered what its purpose was and go out and buy one; but that’s just me (reason my wife calls me a colorful name that is often used when referring to a part of the male anatomy, but that’s a story for another time). When we give a gift we have gotten to another, we are in essence sharing our gift, in an attempt to bring some sort of joy to another, (to whatever extent thingamabobs do).

That makes me think about being on the road. Most of us are familiar with road rage and the cause. It seems, even when we are not in a hurry the idea of another getting in front of us and delaying our journey by 1/100,000,000 of a nanosecond, drives most people berserk. We tend to defend our place in line and safeguard it with our lives. For those of that are ON 2 Wheels, or in a precious Classic, Sports Car or Hot Rod, we lean toward altruism and allow others the space they are looking for. We all know that there is not a charitable thought behind this, only self-preservation. We are a bit more cautious since being on 2 wheels we are more vulnerable, and in our hot rod, we really, really want to protect it. So in essence, we allow others a bit of joy, because it benefits us.

That brings me to my message for today. JOY (the proverbial Holy Grail behind EVERYTHING WE SEEK) is a dichotomy. We can only experience it by giving it away. In the same manner that we give others on the road space to feel safer ourselves, and we give gifts to friends & family to feel good ourselves, THE GREATEST GIFT WE CAN GIVE OURSELVES IS TO BE THE SOURCE OF JOY FOR OTHERS. The old adage “It is better to give than to receive” is a Spiritual Truth, and cosmic law, an immutable reality of life. There is more personal satisfaction, self-love, and sense of well being derived from doing, for, or giving to; OTHERS than we will ever glean from being the recipient of anything.

This year, as we transition from the boxes, trees and lights looking forward to a new year, with NEW BEGINNINGS, we should be mindful of our role as servants to one another. Not only is the new year an opportunity to reinvent ourselves, every day, every moment has the possibility to begin again.

The shortest route to personal well being; is being the source of Joy. When we give it away, we keep it. By shining the brilliant light of our talents and gifts on others, we bask in the glow ourselves. Each of us has a passion for something that puts a huge grin on our face when we are involved in it. That is the gift we were meant to share.  Re-gift what you were given and find that the real meaning of Christmas, the real meaning of life; is to SERVE.  FIND YOUR BLISS THROUGH SPREADING JOY, LOVE & LIGHT.

All Good- Even the bad?

We are wired to judge situation, conditions and experiences as good, or bad. Everyone is smart enough to know these designations are subjective based upon individual desires. As we view the world through the lens of our perspective, we are outraged at all the ” bad” we encounter.

Looking at the subjective value of ” bad”, we can define it as anything that is contrary to our desire. If I desire to cross a river without a safe opportunity, that is bad. I will build a bridge. If I wish to feel strong but I feel weak, I will create an exercise program. When others commit acts of violence against one another and I find it disturbing, I will design a criminal justice system, police and penal institutions.

Accidents that create injury are bad as they compromise my feeling of safety, so helmets, knee pads, airbags and the like are now part of our daily lives. Hungry poor people/ charities, Sick, medicine and doctors, desire to get places far away/planes, trains, cars, highways, boats. As it turns out; all that we consider “bad”, each obstacle we encounter, every challenge we

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 48270265_1927941107287838_7815780197323505664_n.jpg

face, has been the impetus for our creative energies ( both individually and collectively) to discover our passion and make a contribution to society. These are the experiences that bring us joy.

In fact, challenges exist as the catalyst for creation. Without these apparent “bad conditions” there would be no avenue for joy, and creation would be non-existent. Each of us has a gift, a talent, a passion. These abilities are our creative vehicle, and the act of creation is the journey toward JOY. You see when we were tempted by the Devil to eat the apple, banishing us from Eden, it was actually God, appearing as the Devil, to stimulate creation for the sheer purpose of experience. This is the design. We cannot experience joy without pain, warm without cold, faith without fear or love without hate. So by design, it is all a necessary part of the dance and therefore GOOD.

Our inner guidance system ( feelings & emotions- ” Energy in motion”) inform us when the vibration we are sending out (the thoughts we focus on, ideas we feed the most) is not aligned with the actions we take and the encounters we are creating. This makes us uneasy, and initiates action. These actions are our opportunity to use our gift in a positive way to contribute to All THAT IS. Until the gifts (our passion) is being utilized we will always feel this disconnect, leaving us unfulfilled. Like a puzzle piece, we all fit in a specific spot. If we try to force our puzzle piece into a spot that is not a good fit, we corrupt the entire puzzle. The journey of life is the attempt to find that spot.

Many of us never know what our passion is. Some do, but use it as a leisure time release and call it a hobby. very, very few can make their passion the focus of their life. Until we can do that, we will always feel that something is missing. I discovered my passion ( sharing these messages) around age 40-42 after a mission trip with my church. I was asked to write about mu experience and speak about it to the Congregation. That was around 18 years ago. I immediately felt shrouded in Grace as I put word down and felt exponentially elated when speaking to large groups.

In 2010 I stated this blog an my Positively Speaking Face Book page. Shortly after which I began writing an article for a local NE Car/Bike publication called Connecticut Cruise news, then in 2014 I finished my book ” 1st Things 1st. To this day I am still frustrated as I have sold very few copies of my book, have not been able to leverage any of this into speaking engagements and spend $$ to boost posts. My frustration comes from being only tangentially connected to this world of sharing motivation and inspiration when I feel blessed by the activity of doing so. My wish is to spend all of my energy enlightening those that wish to hear.

I understand that action is necessary. I have found that it takes Thousands of $$ to market a book, (after spending thousands to self publish it), Also, every time I search the internet in an attempt to break into the world of speaking publicly, everything I stumble on is another Guru, or company that wants to charge me thousands of $$ to enroll.

Who are these people, groups, Gurus? How have they gotten to where they are? What have they done that I did not? None of them existed 20 years ago when I started. None of them were around in 1984 when I started reading Think & Grow Rich, As a man Thinketh, Conversations with God, and Your Erroneous Zones, yet they all have surpassed me at what I hold to be my greatest passion.

I have been writing about creating your own experience, opportunity and following your bliss for over 10 years and still seem to have trouble getting out of my garage. I do have this blog, the Paper, my FB page and my position as a Sales Leader at work where I can make an impact on peoples lives with my message of Positive Thinking, and intentional creation, but somehow, I am still stalled. Knowing this, I can understand the frustration of millions who are also not living their dream.

SO, this frustration of mine, this “bad” condition is what propels me forward in my never ending journey to enlighten. One day, a door will open and I will enjoy the bliss of my passion, for now, I will see the obstacle as opportunity and continue the trip. I believe i have at least 5 more books in me and enough to say to keep busy for 20 more years.

Authenticity Rocks!

We all understand that no two anything are similar. DNA, fingerprints, hair follicles, grains of sand, types of fungi, bacteria and plant life, nothing, everything! All are different.

It is time we come to the understanding that this is by design, not happenstance. The beauty of life, of nature of ALL THAT IS, is inherent in it’s diversity. The combination of contrasting, often conflicting patterns, dissonant, yet symphonic, antagonistic, while harmonic all converge to create the majesty of life. While this universal dance of perfection unfolds effortlessly, we battle against it by trying to create homogeneity and congruence, against all odds.

As we battle the forces of nature to get our way, we feel the stress akin to rowing upstream in a might river. We wander around sick and miserable lamenting the pain of our differences while all the while, peace and love could be found by letting go. There is nothing upstream that we need. The past is gone, we need to live in the present and move toward what is to be. To look back and attempt to replicate is blasphemy and abomination.

To experience the joy of being, it is imperative that we embrace our being and celebrate or diversity.

Be who your are, you are magnificent in your authenticity and vile in your imitation.

Merry Christmas

For thousands of years after Moses, mankind obeyed and feared a vengeful yet benevolent God. The commandments were followed out of fear of the Mighty wrath of the all powerful ruling deity.

The life of Jesus was the proclamation that the Creator of ALL THAT IS was more of a Father figure than a dictator. The message of us all being connected, forgiven, and co- creators was meant to unify and sanitize humanity. All at once fear could have been eradicated as faith, peace and love became the new paradigm.

2018 years later we are still a holy mess. At best, many give pause during the season that we celebrate the birth of this grand message. While shrouding ourselves in fear, mistrust, competition and isolation the rest of the year.

The greatest gift we could ever give each other on this day is to permanently adopt the perspectives that the Life of Jesus demonstrated. That is what Santa Clause is all about. He shows us the joy of giving to one another. We can all give love, understanding, forgiveness and acceptance. Those are the gifts that do not need a receipt because they are one size fits all, the right flavor, and always in fashion. They are also the gifts that don’t created credit card debt.

As we open boxes today, let’s also open hearts and minds. Share the story, spread the Glory.
